As the USA is a military superpower , the USA should offer protection services to many small countries in the world who are more than willing to pay good money to the USA.
As the protection contract will be on a commercial basis , there will be minimal political repercussions to the protector or the protectee.
Thus , for literally no additional costs , the USA will have money flowing into its bank vaults every year for many years. As the USA milatary is mostly high tech , the dangers to american lives is close to zero.
From a global perspective , it would save many countries gazillion of dollars which would then be put to good use in creating more wealth ( instead of dead milatary equipments ) which would then hopefully make up for the deleveraging in USA and Europe right now and the next few years.
